Araknyia
I got to give it to Africans, some of us work so hard its insane. My friend George is the owner of the clothing line, Araknyia. George sells his t-shirts from the trunk of his car, and that's his side hustle. He doesn't hustle illegally like most of you guys. His passion is fashion and he pursues it intensely. He recently sent me a sample t shirt from his collection and i was impressed at the quality and sizing of the t's, not forgetting the design. This happens to be his first collection and the kid has talent.
I matched this one with a black cardigan, a pair of skinny's and a pair of oxfords and not forgetting the accessories and my fedora.
PS.the name araknyia was adopted from the name arachind. the concept of it is to shape your world as u go on in life..
the logo represents the spiders power to manifest its own desires.

Wow....
The sad thing about this article is that the essence of it is true. The truth hurts. I just hope this sets more Black people in motion towards making real progress. Chris Rock, a Black comedian, even joked that Blacks don’t read.
Help prove them wrong! Read and pass on.
Please Note:
For those of you who heard it, this is the article Dee Lee was reading this morning on a New York radio station. For those of you who didn’t hear it, this is very deep. This is a heavy piece and a Caucasian wrote it.

THEY ARE STILL OUR SLAVES
We can continue to reap profits from the Blacks without the effort of physical slavery. Look at the current methods of containment that they use on themselves: IGNORANCE, GREED, and SELFISHNESS.
Their IGNORANCE is the primary weapon of containment. A great man once said, ‘The best way to hide something from Black people is to put it in a book.’ We now live in the Information Age.. They have gained the opportunity to read any book on any subject through the efforts of their fight for freedom, yet they refuse to read. There are numerous books readily available at Borders, Barnes &Noble, and Amazon.com, not to mention their own Black Bookstores that provide solid blueprints to reach economic equality (which should have been their fight all along), but few read consistently, if at all..
GREED is another powerful weapon of containment. Blacks, since the abolition of slavery, have had large amounts of money at their disposal. Last year they spent 10 billion dollars during Christmas, out of their 450 billion dollars in total yearly income (2.22%).
Any of us can use them as our target market, for any business venture we care to dream up, no matter how outlandish, they will buy into it. Being primarily a consumer people, they function totally by greed. They continually want more, with little thought for saving or investing.
They would rather buy some new sneaker than invest in starting a business. Some even neglect their children to have the latest Tommy or FUBU, And they still think that having a Mercedes, and a big house gives them ‘Status’ or that they have achieved their Dream.
They are fools! The vast majority of their people are still in poverty because their greed holds them back from collectively making better communities.
With the help of BET, and the rest of their black media that often broadcasts destructive images into their own homes, we will continue to see huge profits like those of Tommy and Nike. (Tommy Hilfiger has even jeered them, saying he doesn’t want their money, and look at how the fools spend more with him than ever before!). They’ll continue to show off to each other while we build solid communities with the profits from our businesses that we market to them.
SELFISHNESS, ingrained in their minds through slavery, is one of the major ways we can continue to contain them. One of their own, Dubois said that there was an innate division in their culture.. A ‘Talented Tenth’ he called it. He was correct in his deduction that there are segments of their culture that has achieved some ‘form’ of success.
However, that segment missed the fullness of his work. They didn’t read that the ‘Talented Tenth’ was then responsible to aid The Non-Talented Ninety Percent in achieving a better life.. Instead, that segment has created another class, a Buppie class that looks down on their people or aids them in a condescending manner. They will never achieve what we have.. Their selfishness does not allow them to be able to work together on any project or endeavor of substance. When they do get together, their selfishness lets their egos get in the way of their goal Their so-called help organizations seem to only want to promote their name without making any real change in their community.
They are content to sit in conferences and conventions in our hotels, and talk about what they will do, while they award plaques to the best speakers, not to the best doers. Is there no end to their selfishness? They steadfastly refuse to see that Together Each Achieves More (TEAM).
They do not understand that they are no better than each other because of what they own, as a matter of fact, most of those Buppies are but one or two pay checks away from poverty. All of which is under the control of our pens in our offices and our rooms.
Yes, we will continue to contain them as long as they refuse to read, continue to buy anything they want, and keep thinking they are ‘helping’ their communities by paying dues to organizations which do little other than hold lavish conventions in our hotels. By the way, don’t worry about any of them reading this letter, remember, ‘THEY DON’T READ!!!!
(Prove them wrong.. Please pass this on! After Reading

Fedora's
Since my transformation to natural hair,my hair has been growing really quick(yayyy!) and my natural African hair just grows anywhere, meaning, the sides grow faster than the middle and oh the back? i won't even talk about that, long story short,my hair looks uneven.lol. Based on this recognition, i walked into target for a head gear. Now,i was not looking for a baseball cap,no no, anything else would be fine. i found the fedora on their aisle and i tried it on and i was sold. I see people with the Fedora's on, and a lot of celebrities pull it off too so i decided to give it a try, i think it's a very classy look, and most importantly, covers my whole head which is excellent. The Fedora is stylish, classy, and a convenient 'i need a break, vacay' type of head gear, even though Victoria Beckham pulls it off extremely well. I'm excited about my new find, maybe you could try one on too,you might like it!

Distant Relatives
Nas and Damian Marley, presents 'Distant Relatives' two of the most prolific artists ever to come together to drop an album. Forget jay-z and r.kelly, this is a classic anyone who appreciates music should have. i've been so busy i haven't had time to pick up CDs lately but today i made my way to the CD store and picked up 'distant relatives' and 'the ArchAndroid'. i have never been this excited to own both CDs and all of these lived up to their hype. Jeez, even Nas goes in on his recent divorce from Kelis, and Damian Marley goes so hard it's crazy. What amazed me most was the packaging of the CD, it was the paperback kind, and the artwork and design is the best i've seen so far, why? because it's afrocentric. There's an African map between the two artist's on the cover and a message by Marcus Gavey on the back of the CD, it states "A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots" The whole Cd takes you back to your roots,if you are black, you know your roots,i'm a proud African, and this highlight of Africa stimulates my mind and makes me see the richness of Africa. I believe the world will need Africa soon, very soon we will be on the tip of every tongue and we will shine. Thanks Damian and Nas, this has got to be the best album of the year so far......

Fasasha: A lil' about me
I don't have a title for this note, nor do i claim to be a writer of any sort. i grew up in Ghana, a rich country in all aspects in West Africa. Growing up was hard for me,my mum was constantly on the go from one country to the other in order for greener pastures. I was mostly brought up by my dad,a brother whom i love dearly, uncles and a multitude of boys in the family. Growing up, i was not your regular girl who wanted the barbie toys and play houses, i could care less for toys. I ran around the house shirtless, and i remember my mum chasing me to give me my own medicine. i grew up a tom boy as most American's would say but at the same time when growing up my mum would come back from trips with dresses and shoes for me,i loved every single one of them yet i loved hanging with the boys and that's how i fell in love with the opposite sex. i wore combat boots at the age of 4 with jeans jackets, and that style hasn't left me till today.
The reason for this is just to explain to some of reader's why i blog so much about the opposite sex and their clothes and why i upload so much clothes for men. i like picking men's clothing and putting a feminine twist to it. i believe this styling has been around for ages, but this means a lot to me since most times i'm stereotyped by a lot of people, especially my African colleagues who look at me and dare i say it call me whatever they want. i want to be the girl who stands different at a party,or gathering. The girl you look at that dressed up from her boyfriends closet and still has her feminity intact and massive sex appeal. It's been done for ages, centuries, and i'm not the first to start. Being African doesn't mean you need to be in a box, and i wish they would see that.
i will continue to admire my sense of style, regardless of what anyone thinks.I'm me,my past experiences influence me and so does my sense of style. i look up to ladies like shirley sham, who dresses up from a man's closet but yet her sex appeal and feminity is still intact.love you shirley!

Summer Essential:The White V-Neck T
White to me is regal, meaning you can throw me in mud, put me in anything white and i will feel clean and like i'm sitting on top of the world, with my muddy face. That's what wearing anything white does to me.
I wear alot of t's during the summer,so should everybody, and i wear the hell out of them as well. It's like my mind is programmed that whenever i get ready to go anywhere and it's hot,the White V-neck t is my first option. Accessorizing the White t is easy, you can throw on anything, and it will match with it. i'ma very easy person when it comes to my clothes,i don't like any commotion with my clothing,at all.
The other thing i love about the White V Neck t is that it shows some skin, jeez it's hot out there and if you are trying to throw some sex appeal out there it's your best bet. How many do i have? i don't keep the number because i like to have them looking crispy white so after about 2/3 wears, i get new sets! Toast to one of the greatest inventions in my world, the White V-neck T!
Where do i get them? Target,TJ Maxx F21 and really anywhere they've got them on sale, lol!
PS. Your favorite celebrities rock white v-neck t's all summer as well!!!

Skateboard Obama x NERD Oprah
The pic with Oprah in, is kind of hypocritical to me. I haven't watched Oprah in years just due to the fact that i work strange hours but i've been aware of the fact that she doesn't do Hip Hop so i'm wondering why she's hanging with Pharrell and P.Diddy in the club? It's funny but i wish there was one person in that pic,and that would be 50 cent, now, you know he would not pretend, dude would get at Oprah and call her ass out like he does with everybody. Even though 50 ain't had a serious hit in years one thing i like about dude is that he keeps it real.Waddup 50!lol
Now y'all know i fucks with Obama so i'm not even gonna dick ride him like Thugnificent and Will.i.am on that episode of Boondocks but he gets extra cool points for hanging with my hubby (wink).lol.

Meiple
You know you want that lifestyle,Rugby,Polo,YSL,Chanel,Gant,Black Label, Louis Vuitton and you can live that life all day, well, all your life. Hopping on yachts, catching the tropical waves with your super wayfarers, probably that Moet, Ace of Spades,Moscato in your hand but guess what? It's only in your head till you decide to make that life for yourself. I believe we are the only one's that can make our dreams come true, not your Family,Government or even the country you live in,Africa,Germany,London, everyone can make their dreams come true.Don't sleep,Grind and you just might live the life in these pictures from Gant's Fall/Summer collection.
PS.Pardon my French, the je ne sais quoi got me on cloud 9,that's all i hear you saying!!

Tattoo's
I want a tattoo, yes i won't deny it, but coming from a African home and background, making my family understand that is impossible. When i first came to America, one of the first things my mum told me was don't date black american men and you can get any body art(piercings) but no tattoo's. i wondered why she even bothered to use the word body art since it mainly en-captures tattoo's and rarely the latter.
I can count the number of times i've had to trick her and tell her i'm getting a tattoo to see her response, maybe it might have changed. Over the years,it hasn't and i guess it never will. I asked her what might the reason be for not getting one? and she claims it's in the Bible not to, and in her Christian background and my upbringing as one,i can't get it. Now, i believe in God, i'm a born Methodist but i never viewed tattoo as anything bad. I believe the art of tattoo's even came from Africa so i wonder why my mum disagrees. I am a well grown 25 year old student who can decide to go against her wishes and get it and she will surely get over it but a part of me feels like once i get that tattoo, she will succumb to her fears of me being fully Americanized from my African ways and knowing my mum,i know she will feel like she has lost me to the world.
Based on my mother's fears, tradition, religion, and i want to believe her love for me, i will not get a tattoo. I already seem Americanized enough to my mum and i think if i go any further to get this tattoo it will definitely break our mother and daughter relationship. On that note, today,i declare myself tatts free but guess what? as a friend,if you ask for my advice,i will definitely ask you to get one, and don;t ask me why.......

Floods In TN
i live in Nashville,TN,and last week, we were hit with storms that flooded the greater part of Nashville. Even though i was not affected by the floods, a lot of people lost a great deal of property and lives were lost as well. Already in hard times, it's such a bad time for any of such natural disasters to happen to any state. i sympathize with the families that lost lives and property as well. i took this shot of a flooded golf course, that is almost over flowing with water. Please put Nashville in your prayers as we struggle to get our lives back together.
